Change on the Cards in 2025? 3 Tips for Nailing Your Comms Strategy

2025 is just getting started, and there are already big changes coming across multiple industries - are your comms ready? Luckily for you, we’re feeling generous. So, here are three of our best change communication tips for getting your team on board with your initiatives this year.

Create a story that sticks.

Don’t just dump data on your team with a dry PDF or a forgettable email. Nobody’s ever been inspired by bullet points and spreadsheets. If you want your message to resonate, you need a story.

A good narrative makes complicated ideas relatable and gets people emotionally invested. It’s how you take your team from just reading about the change to actually caring about it.

But don’t stop there. Bring your story to life with visuals that pop. A beautiful image, well-designed chart, or dynamic slide deck can do a lot of the heavy lifting to make the future feel real and exciting.

For example, for one of our clients (a major player in the pharma industry), we communicated their digital transformation to a single, integrated platform as a story of seven travelers setting sail towards a shared destination. Think about what you want the future to look like after your change is live - how could you represent this visually?

Show, don’t just tell.

Now that you’ve got your story, it’s time to turn it into an experience. Think live events, workshops, or even an interactive online demo. Make it fun, make it engaging, and most importantly, make it real.

Are you moving to a new CRM? Live system walkthroughs will help your team understand what their new way of working will look like. Going through a company merger? Host drop-in Q&A sessions with leadership to answer common questions and ensure everyone is on the same page.

Take our client for example. Starting a year before their big go-live, we helped them run monthly virtual sessions, complete with sneak peeks and live demos. It all led up to a high-energy in-person roadshow, which involved a combination of Q&A panels, system demonstrations and small group training workshops. We even created an on-theme jingle!

At the end of the roadshows, 86% of participants said they were ready for the upcoming change. Now that’s a sexy number.

Put people front and centre.

At the heart of every change initiative is people. So, let them be the heroes of your story. Highlight team members who are embracing the change, leaders championing the cause, or even the customers or clients whose lives will be better because of it.

For example, instead of just saying, “This new process will save time,” show how it will let a scientist focus on groundbreaking research or a frontline worker spend more time solving real-world problems. Bonus points if you use video - it’s a great way to connect emotionally and make your message memorable.

Real stories make change feel meaningful and give your team a reason to believe in the “why.” When people care, they act.
